did this piece after :iconlittlestar: left me a comment wondering where my rogue pics were. haha. i'd sketched her and gambit before, but never did a finished piece. and i was looking to do a sort of companion piece to my ms. marvel [link] and since rogue was tied to ms. marvel for awhile there, i figured, why not?

my favorite era of the x-men was the late '80s, so i put her in the costume she was in at that time. (i cannot believe how many costumes these characters have had..)

anyway, this was a fun one to do! back to pages..

Waaaaah! When I saw my icon there, I was just stunned that you mentioned that I suggested it, Rogue is FABULOUS, I can't believe no one else suggested it!

But truly! Do you work as an artist for Marvel or anything or do you just do your own thing and such? Sorry, if I'm being snoopy, tell me to buzz off! lol

I totally agree, man - the late 80's were, in my opinion, the LAST great era of The X-Men. It was great before then, too, but it's never been as good since, if you ask me. That period was definitely the height of Rogue's coolness. And yes, this was definitely the best costume she ever wore! Nice, nice drawing of it!!

i do not work for marvel--i wish! right now i'm just doing work for various independent publishers. hopefully one day i'll get to the big leagues!

That's awesome! I have a friend who is doing stuff like that too! Do you travel to the comic conventions with your stuff? You definately should! You get so much notice and stuff at those! I went to one in Toronto this year to work at it and it was pretty amazing!

thanks, man!! i'm glad there's another person out there that feels the same way about that era of x-men. i honestly don't think they've ever recaptured that sense of fun and adventure they had back then.
rogue was such a badass back then. these days, she's kind of convoluted (more than usual..haha). oh well.
